The plant types listed above are stored in a state of dormancy at -1°C to -2°C before delivery. Before planting, they should be allowed to thaw for 1-2 days in a cool, shady location. It is essential to ensure that the plants and roots are not exposed to direct sunlight, as this will cause them to swelter.
If planting is not yet possible for other reasons, the plants can be stored in a dark, cool room for up to approximately one week. However, it is important to check the plants daily to ensure they do not dry out or develop condensation and mold.
Plugplants
If planting is not possible immediately upon receipt, the plants can be stored on the pallet in a cool, shady location for a maximum of 1-2 days. Afterward, it’s important to spread out the planting trays, also in a cool place, and water them. The root ball should always be moist enough to prevent the plant from drying out and suffering damage.
Fresh plants
Bare-root fresh plants should be planted out as soon as possible after receiving them. The sooner they are planted, the lower the risk of plant failure. For successful cultivation, it’s crucial that green plants are watered thoroughly several times a day for at least a week after planting. The plant’s leaves must be kept consistently moist to prevent them from drying out.
