Early-ripening, dark red strawberry variety

The old early variety Honeoye originated in the USA and was named after Lake Honeoye. The shapely berries are dark red with a beautiful sheen and an average size; however, their sometimes soft texture should be noted. The flavor is distinctly acidic with low sweetness. When cultivating this variety, its susceptibility to powdery mildew, root rot, and Verticillium wilt should be considered.
