Mid-season variety with suitable fruit characteristics for commercial use
The strawberry variety Parlando is from the Fresh Forward breeding program. Parlando is an early-maturing variety, shortly after Malling Centenary, and exhibits a slow but steady harvest. The uniformly shaped berries have firm flesh and good flavor. They are medium red, very easy to pick, and have a high percentage of Class 1 berries. This vigorous variety is robust against common leaf and root diseases and is recommended for both tunnel and open-field cultivation. Due to its firm fruit characteristics, Parlando is particularly well-suited for commercial marketing.
