Early-maturing variety with very attractive fruit and excellent quality
The early-maturing strawberry variety Rosaria, from Stefan Kraege’s breeding program, ripens shortly after Clery. The glossy red berries are consistently large and boast a very good flavor. This variety allows for a very high picking yield, thanks to the high weight of individual berries and the high proportion of Class 1 fruit. The berries store well. It should be noted that the first berries may have slight longitudinal ridges. Rosaria is a robust and healthy plant; however, a slight susceptibility to Collitotrichum should be considered during cultivation. Due to its long flower stalks, this variety is very well suited for cultivation on raised beds, in furrows, or on raised platforms. We were able to test the Rosaria strawberry variety in a variety trial in 2019. Because of its excellent quality, this variety is particularly appealing for direct marketing and, after the first harvest, also suitable for wholesale.
