Ideal for direct marketers, earliest variety on the market

Flair proves to be the ideal variety for direct marketing, allowing for a very early start to the season. It is currently the earliest variety on the market, ripening 1-3 days earlier than Clery and exhibiting a compact harvest period. The plants grow relatively low with open foliage and produce bright red, glossy fruit with excellent flavor. Early irrigation is important to ensure sufficient fruit size. Sensitivity to certain herbicides should also be considered. Manganese and zinc deficiencies can occur in spring on soils lacking sufficient nutrients. In such cases, we recommend conducting a professional soil analysis.

Very early ripening variety

Glorielle is an early variety from the “Stefan Kraege Breeding” program. It ripens before Clery and boasts a superb flavor. The fruit is strikingly glossy, ranging from light to medium red. Glorielle offers good yields for an early variety, comparable to Clery, with a higher percentage of Class 1 fruit. The fruit size remains consistent throughout the harvest. When cultivating Glorielle, it is important to ensure the plant receives adequate treatment against powdery mildew. This variety is an excellent addition for direct marketers who want to harvest strawberries very early.

Early-maturing variety with attractive fruit and a sweet flavor

This medium-yielding variety ripens approximately 5 days after Clery. The medium-sized, conical fruits are bright red and very sweet. The plant is robust and resistant to common leaf and root diseases. Due to its characteristics, Sandra is suitable for protected cultivation in tunnels as well as in open fields.

Serabella, formerly known as Séraphine, is an early-maturing variety from Stefan Kraege’s breeding program, with a ripening time comparable to Clery. It impresses with uniformly shaped, glossy red berries and excellent flavor. The berries of this strawberry variety exhibit consistently good size with high individual berry weight and a high proportion of Class 1 berries, resulting in very efficient harvesting. The variety has good storage properties. Due to its exceptional fruit characteristics, this strawberry variety is suitable for all marketing channels.

The Standard Early Strawberry Variety

Clery is the standard early strawberry variety in Austria. It ripens approximately one week before the Elsanta variety. This variety boasts large, conical, and uniform fruits, as well as a striking skin appearance with a vibrant, bright color. The fruits maintain a good firmness both at harvest and during storage. This early variety delights with its aromatic sweetness. The plants grow well, with medium to dense foliage. For an early variety, Clery offers good yields. It is well-suited for forcing under fleece or tunnels and thrives in dry, warm locations. The plant is particularly suitable for growing in plugplants and is robust against common leaf and root diseases. Due to its positive characteristics, the fruits are suitable for all marketing formats.

Robust and glossy

The Daroyal strawberry variety ripens between Clery and Darselect. It has smooth, glossy fruit with dark flesh and good flavor. This early variety has a comparatively high yield, but the fruit does not store well. It is a full-grown, robust plant that is also well-suited for propagation.
